Cookies and on-device storage

Short answer: there is no Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no advertising pixel and no other third-party statistics or advertising service, neither on jolepadel.com nor in the app. The app records what you watch in the video feed ONLY if you turn on the personalised feed, «Προσωποποιημένη ροή»; it starts off and you can turn it off at any time (see the Privacy Policy for players, section 4), and it measures a partner referral ONLY if you tap «Συμφωνώ» (I agree) when it asks (section 15 of the same policy). Whatever is stored in your browser is there so that the page works or so that it remembers choices you made yourself. This page lists all of it.

Because nothing on the site needs your consent, you will not see a consent banner. In the app, for third-party content, we ask you before anything from YouTube loads (section 4), for referral measurement we ask you before anything is stored, and for a spot from a link without an account the cookie stays after the browser closes only if you choose so (section 1).

1. Cookies

It holds a random key, stored in our database only as a hash; it cannot be read by the page's code and is sent only when you sign in with the PIN.	Until you turn the PIN off. It is also deleted by itself after 400 days without use, or after 5 wrong PINs.
jole_guest (session)	app.jolepadel.com, only under the path of the specific game	Only if you join a game from a link without an account: a random key so that JOLE can recognise your spot and let you view it, leave it or make it yours. One cookie for each game. It is necessary for the service you ask for with «Συμμετέχω» (Join). Our database stores only its cryptographic hash; it cannot be read by the page's code, is sent only over a secure connection and only with requests made by the page itself. It is not used for measurement, referrals or advertising.	This is the default: it is removed when you close the browser. It is deleted immediately when the spot moves to an account. Whatever the cookie says, the server no longer accepts it 7 days after the game's scheduled end (or after its cancellation, if it is cancelled earlier), when the hash is also deleted.
jole_guest (with “Remember my participation in this browser”)	As above	The same cookie, ONLY if you choose, with a separate option that is not pre-selected: «Να θυμάται αυτός ο περιηγητής τη συμμετοχή μου έως [ημερομηνία]. It is optional and based on your consent: if you do not choose it, you join as usual. We record when you chose it, until when, and whether you revoked it.	Until the date we show you before you choose: 7 days after the game's scheduled end, as it was when you chose, as long as you need to see the result and make the spot yours. It is not extended when you come back, and if the game is cancelled or moved earlier it expires earlier. You revoke it from the spot's page, with one tap, and it becomes a session cookie again. Refusing it, revoking it or losing it does not cancel your participation. The browser itself removes it when it expires; we cannot remove a cookie from a browser that has not come back.

The site's language does not stay only in your browser: it is stored in your session on our server, together with your IP address and browser type, while the session is active.

None of these builds a profile, follows you to other websites or is given to anyone.

2. On-device storage (local storage)

On the site (jolepadel.com)

Only if you write in the chat with JOLE AI (bottom right): a random key for the conversation, so that you find it again when you change page or come back. On our server the key exists only as a hash. It does not identify you anywhere else; you remove it by clearing the site's data in your browser, and we delete the conversation itself 180 days after the last message.

In the app (app.jolepadel.com)

The app keeps locally, on your device:

• the language you chose (if you are signed in, it is also stored in your profile);
• if you set a sign-in PIN, which account has it on this device, for the "Welcome back" screen. Never the PIN itself: our server checks it and keeps it only in an irreversible form;
• that you accepted the YouTube player;
• which stories you have already seen, which profile tab you opened last, which cards you closed on the home screen, and whether you want 12-hour or 24-hour time;
• if you join a game from a link without an account, which game you joined and under which name (the 20 most recent), so that the app reminds you of the spot and offers to make it yours. By default it is kept in the tab's storage (sessionStorage) and is removed when the tab closes; only if you chose “Remember my participation in this browser” is it kept in local storage, until the same date as the cookie. It is removed earlier when you leave, when you revoke the choice, when the spot becomes yours or when the app finds that the spot no longer exists. The spot's key is not here, it is in the jole_guest cookie;
• only if you tap «Συμφωνώ» (I agree) to referral measurement: the partner's code, the version of the notice and the time you agreed, in the tab's storage (sessionStorage), for at most 24 hours or until sign-up completes. Without «Συμφωνώ» nothing is stored;
• temporary notes that are cleared when you close the tab.

None of these is an identifier of your device. Until 25 September 2026 the app also kept a random video-feed identifier; it was no longer used for any measurement, so it was removed and is deleted from your device the next time you open the app.

The app also keeps a copy of its own files (code, icons), so that it opens quickly and offline. Your data from the server does not go into this copy.

In the clubs' console

The console keeps in the browser the user's sign-in key, until they sign out, as well as display preferences (for example the theme) and the state of some screens.

3. Fonts

We do not load fonts from third parties. The site and the app serve their own fonts from our servers.

4. YouTube

The app's video feed includes videos from YouTube. Before the first video we ask you.

• Before you accept, the app loads nothing from YouTube or Google: not the player or its code, not the video thumbnails, and it opens no connection to their servers. In place of each thumbnail you see a neutral JOLE image, served from our own servers; the video's title and channel come from our own database.
• After you accept, thumbnails load from YouTube's image server and videos play in YouTube's player, through youtube-nocookie.com. From then on Google receives your IP address, and the player may store its own data in your browser, in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy.

Your acceptance stays on your device and you can withdraw it at any time inside the app: Profile → Settings → «Βίντεο YouTube» (YouTube videos) → «Ανάκληση αποδοχής» (Withdraw acceptance). The app reloads, and from then on it loads nothing from YouTube until you accept again. Data the player itself may have written to your browser belongs to YouTube; you delete it from your browser settings.

5. Other third parties, only when you choose them

• Google: if you tap sign-in with Google, you are taken to Google's page and brought back, as with Apple. While that way is not yet available, only then is Google's sign-in code loaded.
• Facebook: if you tap sign-in with Facebook, you are taken to Meta's page and brought back, as with Apple. Our pages load no Meta code; whatever Meta stores, it stores on its own page, in accordance with the Meta Cookies Policy.
• Apple: if you tap sign-in with Apple, you are taken to Apple's page and back.
• Stripe: if you buy a subscription, you pay on Stripe's payment page, which may set its own cookies to prevent fraud.

6. What you can do

Inside the app, from Profile → Settings: you withdraw the YouTube acceptance at «Βίντεο YouTube» (YouTube videos), you turn off the personalised feed at «Ενδιαφέροντα βίντεο» (Video interests), and you withdraw referral measurement at «Μέτρηση παραπομπής συνεργάτη» (Partner referral measurement).

You can also delete or block cookies and local storage from your browser settings at any time. If you block session cookies, signing in does not work: it is not a privacy setting, it is the sign-in mechanism itself.
